Responsibilities
• Work on cutting-edge international projects and adapt to a vibrant multicultural team.
• Collaborate with the tech team to ensure optimal database infrastructure for our applications.
• Oversee performance tuning, system optimization, and recovery procedures for databases.
• Ensure the integrity and security of data in line with industry best practices.
• Perform routine backups, and establish robust backup procedures.
• Engage in capacity planning and performance monitoring to keep our systems running smoothly.
• Assist developers in optimizing queries, schema design, and database architecture.
• Familiarize and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database administration.
• Collaborate with system architects and software developers to integrate databases seamlessly.
Requirements
• Proficient in MySQL and MSSQL database management.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL and MySQL.
• Experience working with Linux and its command line.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge in cloud services and deployment is an advantage.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but self-taught programmers with a proven ability to learn independently are also welcome.
